Students attending these conferences come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some of the students that attend don’t even have a connection to InterVarsity. This is a story of a student that was not connected, but by the end of the weekend had a whole new vision!
A student from UW-Platteville, not connected to InterVarsity, was invited to attend HC3 by a relative living in the Twin Cities. She ended up driving by herself to the conference. There she met students from UW-Whitewater who shared about their Asian American Small Group and how they are able to grow as a community and outreach to the Asian American students on campus. When the student from Platteville returned to campus she met with the UW-Platteville InterVarsity staff about what it would look like to have an Asian American InterVarsity (AAIV) group on her campus
